Linking buildings, sites or offices
Two buildings of the same company on the same industrial estate or several kilometres apart: one network, one internet connection and one phone system for everyone.
Point-to-point wireless links
We connect two points without a cable: two warehouses, an office and a depot, a camera in a field or a farmhouse the fibre doesn't reach.
We design, install and maintain the link with our own technicians from Sils. Before selling anything, we check on site that there is line of sight and that the link will work.
Our own technicians
The survey, the installation and the maintenance are done by our team, not a subcontractor.
No civil works
Two antennas with line of sight replace hundreds of metres of trench.
Maintenance nearby
If the link fails, someone comes from Sils, not a technician from another province.
First of all
A wireless link needs line of sight between the two points. We check it ourselves before quoting.
What it's for
A point-to-point link is a dedicated wireless connection between two fixed points, with an antenna at each end. It behaves like a network cable, without the cable.
Two buildings of the same company on the same industrial estate or several kilometres apart: one network, one internet connection and one phone system for everyone.
CCTV cameras in a field, a reservoir, a car park or a building site; access control on a distant gate; sensors in an installation with no network.
Bringing good internet to a farmhouse, a farm or a rural guesthouse from a nearby point that does have fibre or our Wimax network.
If what you need is home internet in a rural area, see the internet page: that's where we explain our Wimax network, which is a different thing. Home internet
How we do it
No made-up prices over the phone: every link is assessed on site.

Where the two points are and what has to go over the link: data, cameras, telephony, internet.
We check there is line of sight between the two points and the distance, and choose the right equipment and frequency.
We mount the antennas, align the link and integrate it into your network. You get the link measured and documented.
We monitor the link and, if something fails, a technician comes from Sils. No surprise fees.
Where
We work from Sils and cover the whole county and the surrounding area. These are some of the towns where we regularly work:
If your town isn't on the list, ask anyway: what matters is line of sight between the points, not the municipality.
Common questions
Nimbus Telecom, with our own technicians based in Sils. We do the line-of-sight survey, the installation and the maintenance of point-to-point links across La Selva, El Gironès and the surrounding area.
It depends a lot on the terrain, the equipment used and the obstacles between the two points. With line of sight, from a few hundred metres up to several kilometres. The real distance is set by the on-site survey and, if it isn't feasible, we'll tell you before starting.
It depends on the distance, the equipment and the conditions of each link. We size it in the survey according to what has to go over the link: data between buildings, cameras, telephony or internet. For internet at a farmhouse, it also depends on the source connection.
It depends on the frequency band used. Some bands are licence-free and others require a licence; if the project needed one, we'd tell you before starting.
No. Wimax is our rural internet network for residential customers, with an antenna on each house connecting to our tower. A wireless link is a dedicated connection between two points of yours, designed for your business.
It depends on the distance, the speed you need and what has to be installed at each end (mast, power, network). That's why we don't quote over the phone: we do the survey and give you a fixed quote.
