Payments and tills
Shops, restaurants and petrol stations: if the card terminal and the till depend on the internet, an outage is a till that can't take payments. The backup keeps the money coming in.
Internet backup
A second internet connection, over our WiMAX network, that takes over on its own when the main line fails. Card payments go through, cameras keep recording and the phone system keeps ringing.
We build the backup on our own WiMAX network and set up the failover so you never have to touch anything.
Automatic failover
The router or firewall detects the outage and switches to the second line within seconds. It switches back on its own when the fibre recovers.
Our own network
Across much of La Selva we run our own WiMAX network: a backup that doesn't depend on the same operator or the same cable as your fibre.
Tested with you
Before we sign off, we unplug the fibre and check that everything keeps working.
First things first
A backup that runs over the same cable or the same operator as your fibre isn't a backup. We check how your connection comes in before proposing anything.
What it's for
You don't need to be a large company: it's enough that an hour without internet costs you money or customers.
Shops, restaurants and petrol stations: if the card terminal and the till depend on the internet, an outage is a till that can't take payments. The backup keeps the money coming in.
Cameras keep streaming and the alarm keeps talking to the monitoring centre even if the fibre fails. Especially important for warehouses and sites with nobody there at night.
VoIP phone systems, VPN for working from outside and cloud applications: everything that lives on the internet today stays up on the second line.

How we work
A badly built backup gives false confidence. That's why we install it, configure it and test it ourselves.

We see how your fibre comes in and whether our WiMAX network reaches your location well. The backup can't share the main line's point of failure.
Backup line, equipment (dual-WAN router or firewall) and monthly price. No small print.
We fit the WiMAX antenna, connect it to your main router and configure the automatic failover and the return to fibre.
We unplug the fibre in front of you and check that tills, cameras and phones keep working.
Where
We work out of Sils and cover the whole county and the surrounding area. These are some of the towns we regularly work in:
If your town isn't listed, ask us anyway.
Common questions
Nimbus Telecom, a local operator with in-house technicians in Sils. We install and maintain backup lines over our own WiMAX network for businesses in La Selva, Gironès and the surrounding area.
It's a second connection that the router or firewall activates by itself when it detects the main one has gone down. When the fibre comes back, traffic returns to it without anyone having to do anything.
Across much of La Selva and nearby. We check it on the visit and, if we can't reach you well, we'll tell you straight.
Usually seconds. Phone calls in progress may drop at that moment, but the next ones already go out over the second line.
If the current one doesn't support two internet connections, yes. We check beforehand and, if it needs replacing, we include it in the quote.
A monthly fee for the second line plus installation, if new equipment is needed. We fix the price after the assessment, with no surprises.
